A few days ago I heard this woman talk about the story of Cane and Abel. Before the New Testament - Sacrifices were made in God’s name. Cane and Abel were brothers and were both to perform a ritual to God but only one was acceptable in God’s sight. Cane didn’t sacrifice any meat - just some fruit that he wouldn’t mind parting with, while Abel sacrificed the best of his for God.... And then she said - Blood - God requires blood. (I was like geez lady where are you going with this?!) but then she brought it back to Jesus saying how he was the ultimate sacrifice for us so we no longer need to perform those rituals. I thought that’s a great point. I had spent some time reading about all forms of witchcraft practiced around the world and if there’s one thing in I find in common - it’s blood. I’m not talking about people drinking it for drugs. What people do is provide blood to a spirit in exchange for favors. I’m not saying that anyone who identifies as a witch does that but most definitely someone who practices voodoo does. And so it makes more sense to me that in Christianity Jesus is so important because he is that sacrifice that all these other practices need to constantly consume.
